The inevitable has happened ... well almost. Today, redshirt junior quarterback Clint Trickett was granted a release from his scholarship at Florida State. Trickett was one of the top candidates to take over the starting reins next season, but the explosion of redshirt freshman Jameis Winston during the Spring Game on Saturday just about sealed the deal.
So you're probably wondering how I could possibly turn this into a fashion-related post. I'd argue that it's about 50-50, because I this is — in reality — a sports outfit. With the emergence of Winston, the entire FSU fanbase (including myself) is ecstatic. This dude can flat-out play. The freshman QB is already drawing comparisons to former Heisman-winner Charlie Ward and nicknames such as 'Famous Jameis' are already being thrown out there. Needless to say, I am beyond excited to get up to Tallahassee at least multiple times next season for some games.
In my excitement, I actually threw on this outfit — my typical gameday getup. There's nothing better than drinking some beers and playing cornhole on a Saturday afternoon come the Fall ... well, maybe looking great why you do so.
I wasn't even planning on writing a post today, but the anticipation is killing me!
The full outfit in all its glory. Sporting my typical brown Sperry's (as I have mentioned in past posts) and my State Traditions 'Florida Tallahassee' golf visor. I also love these J. Crew khaki pants. Incredibly comfortable and lightweight — perfect for a hot day in Tallahassee. And of course, no gameday outfit would be complete without a custom Southern Tide gameday (FSU) polo shirt.
Here's a close-up of the polo and pants together. Classic combinaion.
Here's the side of the sleeve on the polo. What's so awesome about this shirt is that it is custom-made for college sports fans. Mine, of course, is the Florida State version but Southern Tide makes them for tons of schools.
Well, there you have it. I know it's a pretty short post, but you get the point. Insert beer in one hand, ping pong ball or cornhole bag in the other, and you've got all the makings of a great Saturday afternoon.
