Fellow bloggers and reading-enthusiasts, I need your help!
As you should very well know by know, I am an avid reader. Actually, I went through a period in time when I really didn't enjoy reading all that much — I blame the school system (as cliché as that sounds). A couple of years ago, however, I got back into reading. It really took off when I got my hands on The Hunger Games. After running through that trilogy in about five days, I found myself craving more. I then read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Fifty Shades series (Yes, really. Don't judge.) Then, I became hooked on the Game of Thrones series ... and eventually read all five current books within a couple of months. (Thanks, George R.R. Martin for making us all wait until 2015 for the next one!)
After countless recommendations, I finally decided to give Veronica Roth's Divergent a try. Let me tell you, people are right. I am hooked! Set in a dystopian Chicago, Roth's series follows a fairly similar storyline to that of Suzanne Collins. It tells the story of a young girl, Beatrice Prior, and her journey through quite the chaotic tale. I don't want to ruin anything for those that haven't read it, but if you haven't — and especially if you're a fan of The Hunger Games series — go out and grab yourself a copy right now!
This brings me to what today's blog post is all about ... (Well, I guess you can't really call it a 'post' so much as it is merely a question) ... With my newfound love for Divergent taking over the majority of my life (and free time), I find myself already halfway through the sequel: Insurgent. As exciting as that may sound, — and trust me, I definitely cannot wait to finish — the third book by Roth is not set to be released until October 22nd of this year! And here in lies my conundrum ... When I finish Insurgent, what do I read next?!
I usually like to scroll through my Kindle bookstore and examine their recommendations (which is usually pretty crowded with young adult fiction — especially of the dystopian variety), but nothing beats personal opinion. As much as I can stumble across a new read that I'll instantly fall in love with, nothing beats the recommendation of a friend or fellow book lover.
So, I implore you ... tell me what to read!
